Clashes break out during Mexico City’s protest against Israel’s war on Gaza | Israeli-Palestinian Conflict News

Clashes have broken out in Mexico City as demonstrators gathered against the war on Gaza.

About 200 people took part in the “Urgent Action for Rafah” demonstration outside the Israeli embassy on Tuesday. A confrontation with police broke out as some protesters tried to break down barriers preventing them from reaching the diplomatic mission.

Protesters covered their faces and threw stones at riot police who blocked their way to the complex in the Lomas de Chapultepec neighborhood.

The police fired tear gas and threw stones back at the crowd.

The demonstration was called after Sunday evening’s Israeli attack on a displaced persons camp outside Rafah, which Palestinian officials said killed 45 people after sparking an inferno.
