Frieda’s kicks off Fire Dragon Fruit season with new PLU approval


Red Flesh Dragon Fruit will have a unique identity, improving retail efficiency and customer experience

Anaheim, CA – As connoisseurs of vibrant and delicious produce, Frieda’s Branded Produce is pleased to announce the start of the Fire Dragon Fruit season from Nicaragua. This highly anticipated season introduces a true superstar bursting with flavor, nutrients and bold colors.

A fan favorite, Fire Dragon® is prized for its vibrant pink flesh, higher brix levels and exclusive availability. Grown in the rich volcanic soil of Nicaragua, this variety has striking red flesh that contrasts beautifully with the pink skin. With a brix value of 15-20, it is sweeter and spicier than our Snow Dragons®, which have a brix value of 10-16. The newly approved PLU 3551 makes marketing this unique variety easier than ever.
