Windies opener Mickyle Louis honored by St Kitts and Nevis

The government of St. Kitts and Nevis has honored West Indies and Leeward Islands opener Mickyle Louis.

The St Kitts Ministry of Sport and Creative Economy announced on Tuesday it would name the South Stands at Warner Park Cricket Stadium in his honour.

In addition, the government assigns a plot of land to Louis and names a road in his honor.

The 23-year-old scored 682 runs in seven matches during the 2024 West Indies Championship.

Louis scored three centuries and four fifties to force his way into the West Indian team for the tour of England.

Louis now becomes the first St Kitts player to represent the West Indies team.

Seven players from Nevis have represented the West Indies at international level.

Nevis-born players Elquemedo Willett, Derick Parry, Keith Arthurton, Stuart Williams, Carl Tuckett, Runako Morton and Kieran Powell have all represented the West Indies in Tests or ODIs.
