La Salle-Peru High School to offer counseling services to grieving students – Shaw Local

La Salle-Peru High School is mourning the loss of a 16-year-old student who died Monday and the school is offering counseling services to students.

“We lost one of our own earlier this week,” Superintendent Steven Wrobleski said in a statement to the La Salle-Peru High School community on Wednesday. “Kendra Thomas tragically died in a car accident.”

“We mourn together with her family and express our deepest condolences,” he said.

The LP Counseling department has scheduled a group support session in the school library on Thursday, June 20 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for any student who needs someone to talk to. No appointment is necessary.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 23 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hurst Funeral Home, 103 E. Elm St., Tonica, with a Celebration of Life at 6:00 PM
