IRSA releases 216,000 Cusec of water from various peripheral stations

ISLAMABAD: The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Sunday released 216,000 cusecs of water from various peripheral stations, with an inflow of 298,200 cusecs.

According to data released by IRSA, the water level in the Indus River at Tarbela Dam stood at 1,463.00 feet, which is 20.00 feet above the dead level of 1,398 feet. The dam recorded an inflow of 135,400 cusecs and an outflow of 700,000 cusecs.

In the Jhelum River at Mangla Dam, the water level was 1,181.60 feet, 43.60 feet higher than the dead level of 3,050 feet. The inflow and outflow were recorded at 41,800 cusecs and 25,000 cusecs, respectively.

Water emissions at several key locations were recorded as follows:

Kalabagh: 154,100 cusecs

Taunsa: 150,700 cusecs

Guddu: 120,300 cusecs

Sukkur: 70,100 cusecs

In addition, 79,200 cusecs of water was released from Kabul River at Nowshera, and 11,200 cusecs of water was released from Chenab River at Marala.

These figures highlight IRSA’s continued management and distribution of water resources to meet various needs in the region.
