Dominica: G6NA Result Released; 79 students received a scholarship

Roseau, Dominica: The results of the Grade Six National Assessment (G6NA) were released by the Dominica Ministry of Education at a ceremony held at the Public Service Union Building on Friday. A total of 920 candidates appeared for the assessment, 79 students received scholarships and 70 students received scholarships.

The Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit, congratulated all the toppers of the examination and wished them best wishes for their future endeavours. Taking it to his official Facebook account, he said: “Congratulations to the top performers in this year’s Grade Six National Assessment.”

The students of Ebenezer SDA Primary brought laurels to the school as 30 candidates appeared for the examination, two of which secured their places in the top 3 of the Grade Six National Assessment. Maia Bertrand from Ebenezer SDA Primary School claimed the first position, followed by Thierry Lauture from St. Mary’s Primary.

Additionally, third place was once again taken by Ebenezer SDA Primary School student, D’Andre Barrie. Fourth and fifth places were taken respectively by Ken-G Delsol-Kelleb John from Laurent Primary and Qitara Beaupierre from Pioneer Preparatory School.

According to the data, a total of 413 boys and 407 girls took the exam, of which 40 males and 39 females were shortlisted for the award winner. It was reported that the scholarship was given to the student who scored a total of 18, 19 or 20 points in the Grade Six National Assessment 2024.

Notably, there were 25 students who achieved an A grade in all four subjects, of which 14 were male and 11 were female. In addition, the government of Dominica also gave scholarships to the students with 16 or 17 points. Of the 920 students, 70 received scholarships, of which 43 were women and 27 were men.

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit wished the best of luck to the students who were in this year’s G6NA and he especially mentioned Penville Primary School. The school proved to be the best performing school this year as a total of 5 students participated in G6NA, 4 of which received scholarships.

“Special congratulations to Penville Primary School, the top performing school in this year’s exams. You have made your Parl-Rep proud,” Prime Minister Skerrit noted.

After the results, all the toppers were grateful to their parents and teachers for always being their pillar of support and guiding them through the exam. This achievement is a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication of all students who strive for excellence and take Dominica to greater heights.
