Afghanistan will take on South Africa, India will join England in the SFs

New Delhi, June 25: After Afghanistan’s thrilling win against Bangladesh in the final Super Eight match of the T20 World Cup on Tuesday, the four teams – England, South Africa, India and Afghanistan – have been finalized for the semi-finals.

India and South Africa are undefeated in the tournament so far and topped their respective groups in the Super Eight stage.

The Rohit Sharma-led team defeated Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Australia to seal their semi-final berth, while Proteas outclassed USA, England and West Indies to continue their winning streak in the tournament.

On the other hand, England started their Super Eight campaign with a resounding eight-wicket win over the West Indies before losing to South Africa by seven runs. However, they crushed the USA by 10 wickets to secure their spot in the semi-finals.

Afghanistan had a very interesting tournament full of rapid rise and fall. Afghanistan started on a high with a clinical 84-run win over New Zealand in their second match, before outperforming Australia in the Super Eight match after their loss to India. In the last Super Eight clash, Afghanistan created history with a victory over Bangladesh.

In the first semi-final of the 2024 T20 World Cup, South Africa will take on Afghanistan at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba on Thursday at 6:00 am (IST), while India will take on defending champions England at the Providence Stadium in the second semi-final , Guyana on the same day at 8:00 PM.

First Semi-Final: June 27 (6 AM IST) – South Africa vs Afghanistan at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago

Second Semi-Final: June 27 (8:00 PM IST) India vs England, at Guyana National Stadium in Guyana
