One dead and one injured in a gun attack in Linstead

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – One man was shot dead while another was injured during an attack at Bottom Banbury in Linstead, St Catherine, on Wednesday evening.

The dead man has only been identified as Rical Hunter, a resident of the said community.

Reach reports Observer online indicate that both men were standing at Hunter’s gate around 7 p.m. when several gunshots were fired from nearby bushes.

Hunter was hit in the right side of the neck, chest and legs, while the other man suffered gunshot wounds to both legs, according to police.

A police patrol arrived on the scene and assisted the men to hospital where Hunter was pronounced dead on arrival. The injured man was listed in stable condition.

A motive for the attack has not yet been determined, police said.
