Onome Ebi, Ordega surprises Super Falcons’ comeback

Experienced stars Onome Ebi and Francisca Ordega have been included in the Super Falcons’ squad for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Both players are on the list of four reserve players who can be called up in the event that one of the 18 players in the main squad gets injured.

Onome Ebi, 41, became the first African player to play in six World Cups last year.

She also played at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, which was incidentally the last time the Nigerian women’s team participated in the competition.

The 30-year-old Ordega, on the other hand, plays for the Russian club CSKA Moscow.

She attended the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The final selection of the Super Falcons for the Olympic Games will be announced soon.

The Super Falcons open their training camp for the Paris Olympics in Spain on Thursday.

They will train in Spain for ten days before heading to France to continue their preparations.

They are drawn in a first round group with world champions Spain, Japan and Brazil.
