Romesh Ranganathan says trip to Africa is ‘perfect’ way to end Misadventures series

Comedian and TV presenter Romesh Ranganathan has said his trip to Africa is the “perfect” way to bring BBC series Misadventures to a close.

The Misadventures Of Romesh Ranganathan returns to BBC Two and BBC iPlayer later this month for its fourth and final series, with Ranganathan, 46, exploring Uganda, Rwanda and Madagascar.

Ranganathan said: “This three-week trip to Africa felt like the perfect way to bring (the series) to a close.

“Next year my Misadventures will go to Tenerife with the family.”

In the first series, Ranganathan explored the Canadian Arctic, Albania, Ethiopia and Haiti.

Since then he has traveled to Colombia, Mongolia and Romania, among others.

In series four, Ranganathan begins his journey in Uganda and speaks to an LGBTQ+ activist after the country’s parliament votes on an anti-gay bill.

In episode two, he travels to Rwanda, where he creates indigenous art, visits the Kigali Genocide Memorial and embarks on a night safari drive to get up close to a pride of lions.

In his latest adventure, the Avoiding star is taken on a walk through Madagascar’s Grand Tsingy, meets some lemurs and witnesses the consequences of a severe drought.

Ranganathan will co-host the Bafta TV Awards on Sunday with his friend and colleague Rob Beckett.

Their show Rob And Romesh Vs has been nominated in the comedy entertainment and entertainment performance categories.

The Misadventures Of Romesh Ranganathan returns to BBC Two and iPlayer later this month.
