I was attacked by sharks; it felt like I had been punched

A Florida man has described what it was like to fall into a shark pit in the Bahamas and live to tell the story.

Marlin Deere Wakeman, 24, was working on a boat at the Flying Fish Marina on Long Island when he slipped and fell into a “den” of Caribbean reef sharks on April 26.

Two sharks attacked him, one pulled him underwater by the leg and another attacked his shoulder, inches from an artery. “A lot of pressure,” Wakeman said of the bites at a news conference Thursday at a Palm Beach hospital. “The one on my shoulder felt like a blow… You really don’t feel the teeth going in.”
