Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival expands to Brampton, Canada

The Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF) has expanded its reach to the city of Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

Therefore, the first edition of the Brampton International Film Festival (BINFF) will take place from October 3 to 5, 2024.

The journey to BINFF started in 2021, with a simple phone call expressing the city’s interest in partnering with TINFF. The call led to a presentation of a proposal by TINFF delegates to Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown and his councilors in 2023, which later received approval from Brampton’s economic development team.

Led by the Manager of Tourism, Brampton City, and with the approval of Mayor Brown, BINFF has announced its first edition.

It will be recalled that TINFF recently achieved a milestone as the first Nigerian and African festival to obtain accreditation from the Telefilm Canada and Canadian Screen Awards (CSA) Qualifying Film Festival. The latter (CSA) is the Canadian equivalent of the Oscars.

As an iconic landmark of Brampton, which has witnessed burgeoning economic activity in recent years, BINFF will attract actors and film stakeholders from the Canadian, United States and Nollywood film industries to network, showcase and promote inclusivity and diversity in Brampton to celebrate.
