U-17 WWCQ: Burkina Faso holds flamingos in Bamako

The Nigerian Flamingos were held to a 1-1 draw by Burkina Faso in the first leg of their Women’s Under-17 World Cup qualifier in Bamako on Saturday.

Bankole Olowookere’s team took the lead ten minutes after halftime through Chidi Harmony.

Rainata Oubda equalized for the home team five minutes before the end.

The two teams will meet again next Saturday in the second leg at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

The overall winners will advance to the final round of the qualifying tournaments.

Nigeria finished third at the last edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup hosted by India.

The Dominican Republic will host the next edition of the competition.
