The Bahamas is moving toward greater national food security and less dependence on food imports thanks to the Ministry of Agriculture’s container farms, two of which are supplied by Eeden Farms.

On Facebook, the ministry announced that the farms, both 12 meters long, are capable of producing the equivalent of 5 hectares of high-quality products annually, which are hurricane-resistant and pesticide-free.

A container farm is a 21st century farming method that involves growing plants in custom-built storage or shipping containers.
