There is one way King Charles will meet his son Prince Harry, according to an expert, after the Duke of Sussex was apparently “rejected”.

The Duke of Sussex returned to Britain last week for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. The Duke flew to London from the United States for a service at St Paul’s Cathedral, with his brief visit before he and wife Meghan Markle flew to Nigeria for a tour.

Shortly after arriving in London last Tuesday, it was revealed that King Charles was too busy to meet his son, after weeks of speculation that they could meet.

On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the Duke said: “Unfortunately this will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full schedule. The Duke obviously understands his father’s diary with commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”

And now a royal expert has revealed the only way the king was likely to meet his son. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Richard Fitzwilliams said: “If Harry came to Britain privately and arranged a meeting in advance, I’m sure his father would see him.”

He added that Harry and Meghan’s trip to Nigeria will “showcase the appeal of their brand, which recently seemed much weaker.” Mr Fitzwilliams said at the time: “However, it will take a very, very long time to build trust with the Royal Family. It is a sobering thought that this may never happen.”
