American Cultural Association makes donations to Cuban hospitals

Havana, May 3 (ACN) The American Jose Marti Cultural Association has presented a donation to two hospitals in the western province of Pinar del Rio to support medical services in that western Cuban province.

The shipment includes medical equipment and resources that will contribute to the care of patients at the Abel Santamaria Cuadrado General Hospital and the Pepe Portilla Children’s Hospital.

The donation will help soften the impact of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against the island, which aims to overthrow the Cuban Revolution and make its people suffer, Association member Damian Diaz told the Cuban News Agency.

Blood pressure monitors, thermometers and other items are part of the donation brought in by the support group. Association coordinator Percy Francisco Alvardo said this is the second time they are visiting Pinar del Rio, so they wanted to support the locals with a modest donation to help the great fight for health preservation.
