Man killed while standing outside bar in Portland

Police investigators are investigating the shooting of a man at a bar in Portland’s Falkland district near Boundbrook on Thursday.

Resident identified the deceased as Berty Brumley from an address in the parish. He was said to be in his late fifties.

According to reports, Brumley was standing in front of the bar at approximately 5:45 p.m. when a motor vehicle was driven to the location.

An armed man exited the vehicle and opened fire, striking Brumley.

The gunman then fled into the waiting car.

Brumley reportedly succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

A total of six people have been killed in Portland since the beginning of this year.
