Ram 1200 appears as a medium-sized pickup with French design influences

The Ram 1500 is the smallest truck in the lineup for folks here, but in Mexico they have more options. They will get the compact 700 and the new 1200. This upcoming truck, leaked before the official unveiling, is intended for Mexico and South America. The name is expected to be released in 2025. The 1200 name was previously used for a Fiat truck in the United Arab Emirates from 2016 to 2019.

This new truck, the Ram 1200, is based on the Peugeot Landtrek, a truck that is not available in the US. It will be made in China next to the Landtrek. Unlike the Landtrek, the Ram 1200 will be available in single and crew cab styles. There will be different equipment, from simple work trucks to more luxurious ones. It gets a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine with around 210 horsepower. You can get it with a manual or automatic transmission.

The 1200 gets rear-wheel drive, but some models have four-wheel drive. The base work version will be able to tow about 6,600 pounds and carry about 2,650 pounds. Ram has made some changes to the 1200 to ensure it is suitable for use in South America and Mexico. We’re not sure yet if there are diesel engine options.

The Ram 1200 looks a lot like the Peugeot Landtrek, but with a different grille and Ram badging. It has many safety features, with up to 29 driver assistance systems. It is expected to be released in June, with prices ranging from approximately $26,600 to $40,000. It will compete with trucks like the Nissan Frontier and Toyota Hilux, but probably won’t come to the US. However, there are rumors that Ram might bring back the Dakota or create a new truck called the Rampage.
