Payment in installments for Bruno: – West Ham News

West Ham United have made their first signing of the summer transfer window, bringing in Brazilian defender Fabricio Bruno from Flamengo for a reported £12.7million, reports say Mundo Rubro Negro.

The transfer fee will not be a one-off blow to West Ham’s finances. The Hammers will pay Bruno in three installments over the course of the season, providing some financial flexibility.

Although Bruno will be Lopetegui’s first signing as manager, it appears the defender was already identified by the club before Lopetegui’s arrival. He reportedly impressed scouts during an international match between Brazil and England.

West Ham fans will have to wait a little longer to see Bruno in action for the Hammers. He will play his last match for Flamengo against Millonarios on Tuesday, May 28, before joining his new club.

The arrival of Lopetegui and the signing of Bruno mark a period of change at West Ham. Manager David Moyes has been replaced and football director Tim Steidten appears to be responsible for the transfer fee. Bruno, along with reported interest in Brazilian youngster Wesley Gassova, reflects a shift in transfer strategy.

Despite a lack of European experience, Bruno has a strong record in the Brazilian Serie A and was even called up to the national team. With over 110 appearances for Flamengo and two caps, Bruno has the potential to be a solid addition to West Ham’s backline.
